blew from the corners were evil winds. Just as we are ready for the opening of the seventh seal, so are the four evil winds ready to add their share of damage to the evils of war, famine, pestilence, and earthquake. But just as we are bidden to wait, so are the four angels that have control over those winds ordered to wait. The one bringing this order is another angel “having the seal of the living God.” The “seal” here reminds us of the “seven seals” of the scroll, but it is much more than that.
